Develop a brotherhood, who guided by the Five Ideals, share a lifelong committment to Alpha Kappa Lambda and are dedicated to assuming leadership roles in meeting the challenges and responsibilities of life.

The Five Ideals of Alpha Kappa Lambda are: Judeo-Christian Principles, Leadership, Scholarship, Loyalty, and Self-Support.

In 1907 a house club named the Los Amigos at the University of California at Berkley was formed by eleven founders for a place where Christian men could study and live within reasonable living expenses. On April 22nd, 1914 the men of the club chartered as the National Fraternity of Alpha Kappa Lambda. Alpha Kappa Lambda became the first greek letter fraternity to be founded on the west coast. Ninety-two years later after much expansion eastward, the fraternity establishes itself in the fifth largest city in the country, Philadelphia.

In November of 2005 a group of friends formed an interest group for Alpha Kappa Lambda on the Campus of Temple University. On January 24, 2006 fourteen men gathered and were colonized by Executive Director Jeremy Slivinski. Notable founders include Anthony Albanese, Matthew Anthony, Nicholas Bardoutsos, Christopher Haagen, Dusha Holmes, Hardley Jeannite, Steve Royal, Shiv Sethi, and Nicholas Torres. Alpha Class quickly began involvement implimenting there first annual "These Hands Don't Hurt" service project that took place in April.

On January 1, 2007 the Pennsylvania Epsilon colony of Alpha Kappa Lambda became officially recognized as a Greek Organization by the Temple University Greek Association.

The colony hopes to fully petition to their national headquarters soon, and officially become chartered.

I believe in the Five Ideals of Alpha Kappa Lambda fraternity and subscribe to an emphasis on Judeo-Christian Principles, Leadership, Scholarship, Loyalty, and Self-Support.

I believe in brotherhood as friendship of the highest calling.

I accept membership in Alpha Kappa Lambda as an affiliation that is binding for life.

I pledge myself to treat others as I would have them treat me.

I shall respect the opinion of others.

I shall commit myself to a style of membership in Alpha Kappa Lambda that is an educationally and socially maturing process. The goal of this process is achieving a wholeness of manhood that is prepared to assume leadership responsility in fulfilling the obligations of life.
